DanE1998 (often known as Dan) is a member of the Labour Party. He is a former MP and Chair for the party, and has served in numerous Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet positions. He is the brother of a former Labour MP called Boyonwheels.
Early Career (April 2014 - January 2016)[]
In April 2014, DanE1998 joined the Labour Party, stating that he had a centre-left social stance and centrist economic stance. However, it was not until he first became an MP in May 2015 that he properly got involved in the MHoC. Dan was given his first Cabinet positions - Secretary of State for Constitutional Reform and Devolution, and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government - in the 21st Parliament by then-Prime Minister RayApparently. Following a successful Motion of No Confidence in the Government, he became the Shadow Secretary of State for the Home Department. Following Aphgate II and the suspension of parliament until the rest of the term, Dan decided to take a backseat role for the rest of the year.
More Shadow Cabinet positions and becoming Chair (January 2016 - January 2017)[]
In January 2016, DanE1998 returned to the Cabinet once more when he was appointed Secretary of State for Constitutional Reform, Devolution and International Development by Saracen's Fez. In the 23rd Parliament, he was given the position of Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Defence and International Development by the latter. However, due to Quamquam123 becoming Labour Leader and RayApparently then replacing him, Dan held several different roles that term, including Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Defence and International Development (for the second time), and Shadow Secretary of State for the Home Department (also for the second time).
As well as Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet positions however, Dan also wanted to obtain a role within the Labour Party. In May 2016, he stood in a chairship election against the incumbent cranbrook_aspie and lost by a large margin. However, when cranbrook_aspie resigned later that month, DanE1998 stood for Chair once more and was successful. Dan remained as Chair until he resigned in September 2016; he was replaced by Quamquam123.
Speakership election and life after (January 2017 - present)[]
In January 2017, following Saracen's Fez's decision to step down as Speaker, DanE1998 decided to contest the subsequent election. In his manifesto, he promised that duties would be carried out on time with updates sent no later than 9pm, supportive nuturing leadership while ensuring rule breaches are dealt with, helping new members and creating an open culture to ensure development. He used the slogan was '#DanweCan' throughout his campaign. However, he only received 5 votes and came fourth in the election.
